Demon Hunting with a Sexy Ex By Lexi George 3 stars I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway and thoroughly enjoyed it, although I was a little confused throughout. It is the fifth book in a series and I haven't read the other books. As a result, I would not consider this book an easy stand-alone read. I was able to figure out who was who and eventually what the characters referred to, but it took a while. Cassandra is a sorceress who lives a simple life in Alabama trying to forget the non-human demon hunter who abandoned her nearly two hundred years before. Duncan wants her back and has to battle werewolves and demons to break through her defensed. He gets a little help from a shape-shifting ogre, an albino sasquatch named Sugar, and an animated hero statue of a peanut 'feller to mention a few. Ella, The Slayer and the Serenity House Series By A. W. Exley **** 4 stars I enjoy a fun historical romance, especially when it has its fill of fantasy. In this case you have the Turned, or Vermin. Yes, folks, we are talking about zombies here. Now I don't typically seek zombie stories but I've enjoyed another series by this author (which I will discuss another time), so this one caught my eye. I also have a slight fascination with retold fairy tales.
